017 - Spirit House Bangkok, Thailand Every shop, home, and condo in Bangkok is home to a spirit house, a traditional Thai shrine that houses the land's guardian spirits. Families make offerings to the spirits to pray for protection of their homes.

016 - Sake Don Don Doki @ The Market, Bangkok, Thailand Bangkok is the home to a rather large Japanese expat population. There are several Japanese bars, shops, and supermarkets throughout the city. Don Don Doki, a popular Japanese Supermarket, recently opened up downtown, bringing a large piece of Japan to the expats in the City of Angels. A large selection of Japanese sake, or rice wine, is imported directly from the Land of the Rising Sun.

015- Fresh Seafood Don Don Doki, Bangkok, Thailand These super fresh shellfish were available for a super reasonable price at the Don Don Doki store at The Market, Bangkok. Don Don Doki is a Japanese supermarket with incredible prices and exciting imported goods from Japan.

014 - Art The Market, Bangkok, Thailand This exhibit was at a pop-art exhibit at a shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand. Other works honored the late King Bhumibhol and paid tribute to Thailand's struggles with COVID-19.

013 - A Shrine Bangkok, Thailand This shrine to a Thai goddess stands outside the Big C Supermarket in the Ratchaprasong neighborhood of Bangkok.

012 - Modern Mall Bangkok, Thailand Gaysorn Plazahas with five levels and more than 100 shops, is one of the first shopping malls in Bangkok.

011 - Thai Chilies Bangkok, Thailand A woman sells fresh vegetables by the train station near my house. The red-hot Thai chilies looked particularly fresh and beautiful, but they are way too spicy for me!

010 - Mooncake Bangkok, Thailand The Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese harvest festival, is celebrated with beautiful mooncakes. The traditional mooncakes are made with a bean paste and salted egg yolk, but ice cream, durian, or other flavors are becoming more popular as well.

003 - Khlong Bangkok, Thailand Bangkok used to be known as the "Venice of the East" due to the "khlongs", or canals which crisscross the city. Some of the canals are still used for public transport across Bangkok. Others, like the canal near my home, exist mostly for the purposes of drainage and to smell bad.
