Though Thailand is an officially Buddhist country with some 95% of the population adhering to Buddhism, there is a deep and ancient underlying Hindu influence on Thai spirituality. Ganesha is one of the most popular Hindu gods to be worshiped in Thailand.

The table was loaded with offerings - roast duck, fresh fruit, flower garlands, sticky rice, incense, and more. It's not a festival day, but it must be a special occasion. The office tower's owner is holding the ceremony to pray for an auspicious occasion.

Once the scourge of rice farmers, these snails are now prized for their valuable slime, a trendy component in facial cream. The Buddha closest to the camera is seated in a posture known as Dhyana Mudra, which symbolizes the Buddha attaining enlightenment beneath the Bodhi Tree.
