007 - A Buddhist Cemetery Bang Krajao Samut Prakan, Thailand These pyramidal chedis are monuments honoring the dead in a Buddhist cemetery in Bang Krajao, Thailand. Most Thai funerals end in a cremation ceremony, after which the ashes are either scattered or interred in one of these monuments. Relatives bring incense and flower garlands to honor and remember their loved ones.

005 - Progress BTS Skytrain Station Ha Yaek Lat Prao Bangkok, Thailand When I first moved to Bangkok over seven years ago, the mass transit system consisted of three relatively short lines that crossed the busiest parts of the city. Over the past few years the BTS and MRT systems have continued to expand, and there are many other transport lines currently under construction. 004 - Lord Ganesha, God of New Beginnings Bang Krachao, the "Green Lung of Bangkok" Samut Prakan, Thailand Surrounded by jungle palms, a colorful statue of the god Ganesha can be found at a small Hindu temple in Bang Krajao. Though Thailand is an officially Buddhist country with some 95% of the population adhering to Buddhism, there is a deep and ancient underlying Hindu influence on Thai spirituality. Ganesha is one of the most popular Hindu gods to be worshiped in Thailand.

003 - A Feast for the Gods Ari Neighborhood Bangkok, Thailand A banquet table had been set up in the parking lot of an office building before the property's spirit house. The table was loaded with offerings - roast duck, fresh fruit, flower garlands, sticky rice, incense, and more. It's not a festival day, but it must be a special occasion. The office tower's owner is holding the ceremony to pray for an auspicious occasion.

Once the scourge of rice farmers, these snails are now prized for their valuable slime, a trendy component in facial cream. 001 - The Hall of Buddhas Wat Suthat Bangkok, Thailand Dozens of golden Buddhas, each one unique, line the outer walls at Wat Suthat Temple. The posture of each statue has a special meaning. The Buddha closest to the camera is seated in a posture known as Dhyana Mudra, which symbolizes the Buddha attaining enlightenment beneath the Bodhi Tree.
